Fishsludge Recovery System

Treatment of Waste from Fish Farming

Together with Bioteknikk we have developed the extremely compact and reliable FRS process for treatment of waste water from fish farming. The process uses the Best Available Technologies in each of the process steps. The process recover suspended and dissolved matter in the waste water, convert this to a valuable  dry powder for use in fertilizer production , and a clean effluent for recycling in the fish farm (RAS) or release in the local recipient. The process is extremely compact, reliable,  automatic and energy efficient. The process consists of the following main stages:

  • Water filtration in drum filters (by others)
  • Flocculation of drum filter rejectate in Soneco DB electroflocculation unit
  • Sludge thickening in lamella tanks
  • Sludge dewatering in decanter centrifuges
  • Sludge drying in TMD, a unique patented Friction Dryer
